Offered in-person on a beautiful homestead in the Decatur/Greenwood/Dallas/Forth Worth Area

and virtually via Zoom.

We will practice on our outside yoga deck, in our heated garage studio space or in our beautiful, custom-built, climate-controlled yoga barn with brand new, modern facilities including an outdoor shower with hot water, a posh restroom, and changing area for your convenience. The indoor studio allows us to hold classes rain or shine.

INVIGORATE & INTEGRATE

A Hot 26 & 2 class is a specific type of yoga practice that combines 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises, typically performed in a heated room. Here's a description of what you might expect in a Hot 26 & 2 class:

 

Heated Environment: The class takes place in a room heated to around 90-95 The heat is intended to help warm up the muscles, increase flexibility, and promote detoxification through sweating.

 

26 Postures: The class follows a set sequence of 26 postures, also known as asanas, which are performed in a specific order. These postures target various parts of the body, including the spine, legs, arms, and core. 

 

2 Breathing Exercises: In addition to the postures, the class includes two specific breathing exercises: Pranayama and Kapalbhati breathing. These breathing techniques help to regulate the breath, improve lung capacity, and promote relaxation.

 

Focus on Alignment and Form: The instructor guides students through each posture, emphasizing proper alignment, form, and breathing techniques. Students are encouraged to listen to their bodies, modify poses as needed, and take breaks if necessary, especially in the intense heat.

 

Benefits: Hot 26 & 2 classes are known for their physical and mental benefits, including increased flexibility, strength, balance, and stamina. The heat helps to warm up the muscles more deeply, allowing for greater range of motion. Additionally, the intense sweating can aid in detoxification and cleansing of the body.

SUNDAY: GENTLE YOGA

RESTORE & RESET

Gentle/Restorative yoga classes invite you to ease into serenity as you embrace a floor-based practice that centers around tranquil movements, relaxing poses, and postures that are lovingly supported by an array of props to make the class accessible for everyone.  Each pose is held for 3-5 minutes to foster profound physical and mental relaxation akin to the soothing ambiance of a spa visit.

Restorative classes also utilize Umā's expertise as a Texas-Licensed National Board Certified Registered Respiratory Therapist. Each class is designed to facilitate breath regulation and control to support circulation of blood, nutrients, and oxygen into every cell of your body. The breath is the center of well-being. Join Umā for this transformative experience.
