Ashtanga is a set sequence of asanas (postures) linked together through transitions and breath (vinyasa), resembling a meditative flow. The joining of these asana with gaze and breath results in building remarkable strength, flexibility and calmness. Ashtanga is an advanced physical practice, and sometimes can resemble an aerobic workout. Ashtanga yoga uses body heat, sweating, and deep breathing to purify the body.
Jivamukti is a vigorous physical practice combined with an intellectual study leading to body, mind, and spirit integration. There is an emphasis on the educational aspect of the practice and students are taught the philosophies of yoga. Everyone will enjoy these classes!
Prenatal and Postnatal
Prenatal and Postnatal classes are designed to meet the ever-changing needs of women in all stages of pregnancy and beyond. The classes are appropriate for all experience levels. This is a moderately-paced class aimed at preparing for birth and stimulating post-natalrecovery. Emphasizing movement and breath, we focus on poses that build strength and stamina while stretching and opening the body. We also cultivate breath techniques and relaxation exercises that help calm the mind. Modifications are made for each stage of pregnancy and postnatal recovery.
Beginner’s Yoga develops body awareness, learn basic postures (asanas), and proper alignment. Learn yogic forms of breathing and how to sequence breath and movements together, and become familiar with the connection to your physical and energetic body.
In Hatha Yoga traditional asana (postures) are held in accurate alignment. Emphasis is placed on core strength, flexibility, balance, concentration, and breath control. Based on physical postures, deep breathing, mindfulness, and listening to the body.
Hard Body Yoga
Hard Body Yoga is a combination of yoga, strength training, and pilates. These are traditional yoga & pilates moves manipulated to create a long lean strong and flexible body without the bulk you can get from traditional weight training. The combination of these three is a great way to maximize your workout!
Gentle yoga is a calming, stress-relieving yoga practice to stretch and strengthen the body gradually. Emphasis is on building awareness of the breath and the body. Asanas are practiced at a slower pace with attention to alignment. Recommended for all levels in search of a relaxing, restorative experience.
Hatha Flow offers flowing sequences focused on the breath and movement integration. Students learn to refine postures and move beyond limitations of the body and mind by listening to the breath. The postures will be linked, a vinyasa style of yoga (connecting breath to movement) which builds heat, as well as strength and flexibility.
